The pectin is highly purified from all other citrus compounds present in the pith, so the potential is extremely low. In over 30 years of use, we have never received any reports of an allergic reaction to it by people who do have citrus allergies and intolerances. However, as with any allergy, if reactions are extreme then it's best to take advanced precautions.
